Car Maintenance: A Few Things to Look For
April 16th, 2009 by admin
When you own a car, you own a significant machine that will allow you to have greater mobility and convenience. However, owning a car can also be dangerous and costly – especially if you do not regularly maintain it. Here are a few things that you should do regularly in order to ensure that your car is properly maintained so that it is safe, long-lasting, and reliable for you to drive:
Check Your Belts
Your belts help to ensure that your engine runs smoothly and that your car is reliable. If a belt happens to break while you are commuting, then you will be stranded – and not always in the safest of conditions. To check your belts on your own, simply push on the belt. If the belt gives way by more than half an inch, it’s time to bring it in for maintenance. Also, make sure that there are no cracks or signs of wear and tear on the belts – as these could indicate that the belt is about to give way.
Check the Hoses
The hoses are also important parts of the engine that help it to run smoothly. To check your hoses, pinch them between two fingers. If they crack or if you get goo on your fingers, then it’s time to bring your car in for an inspection. We may need to replace worn hoses.
Check Tires
Tires should have thick treads. If the treads wear down, then they are “balding” which means that they do not grip the road surface as they should. It may be time to change your tires so that you do not slip and slide – especially in wet driving conditions.
Check Fluids
You should regularly check all of your fluids – including your windshield wiper fluid. After all, you never know when you might need to wipe those nasty bugs off of your windshield so that you can see clearly!
Check Lights
It is important for you to have ample light – especially when driving at night. Therefore, once a month, you should check all of your lights to make sure that they are working properly. This includes high beams and low beams as well.

How Would You Like to Drive a Cube?
March 23rd, 2009 by admin
If you haven’t seen it on the road just yet, get ready. The all new Nissan Cube is getting ready to take over the highways by storm – and it’s no wonder! With low gas mileage and a sleek exterior, the Nissan is not only turning heads, but it’s helping drivers save money at the pumps each week.
While the Nissan Cube will officially hit the highways later this spring, some models are already being driven by lucky test drivers. And if you haven’t yet noticed it, chances are good that you’ll recognize it when you see it pass soon enough.
Here’s why we like the Nissan Cube:
It’s Well-Rounded
Well, at least it’s well-rounded according to Nissan’s marketing efforts. This boxy car is sleek and aerodynamically built. It’s smooth design helps the car to cut through the air effortlessly, making driving easier and less expensive than ever.
Plus, we love the back window, which stretches across to the side, giving the car an oddly pleasing asymmetrical appearance that is surprising.
It’s Roomy
With seating for five and ample storage capacity, the four-door mini-SUV is suite a catch. You can comfortably seat all of your friends and enjoy high headroom and generous leg room in all seats. Thanks to its short profile, the Nissan Cube is super easy to park, making it ideal for city driving.
It’s Eco-Friendly
Well, while no car is truly easy on the environment, the Nissan Cube certainly comes close to being the perfect eco-friendly car – and we like that. The Cube was inspired by a drop of rain and it shows. The smooth design increases fuel efficiency, just as a rain drop effortlessly falls through the sky. This Cube is Nissan’s answer to the quest for a fuel efficient car that is inexpensive to buy. In fact, the price tag for the Cube is well under $20,000, making it one of the most affordable eco-friendly cars on the market.
Plenty of Accessories
There are also plenty of accessories that come on this super sleek car, including a custom grill, fog lights, rear roof spoiler, molding accent, side window deflectors, 16 inch allow wheels, chrome side mirror covers and more. Interior accessories include a shag dash topper (very chic), interior trim appliqués, a utility pouch, and ripple hooks. Plus, you’ll love the minimalistic design.
