What’s in a Cube? Check Out the New Nissan Cube
December 19th, 2008 by admin
Nissan’s Cube is already being compared to the Toyota Scion. But that’s about where the comparisons end. The Nissan Cube was unveiled in November, 2008 to a round of eco-friendly applauses. Not only is the Nissan Cube designed to make parking in small spaces easier, but the boxy design is surprisingly … aerodynamic, making the Nissan Cube convenient and fuel efficient at the same time. Take that, big SUVs!
The Nissan Cube will hit markets in the spring of 2009 and we think it will be a big hit. Here’s what we love about the Nissan Cube:
Asymmetrical Design
Sick of cars being totally symmetrical and predictable? Be surprised by the quirkiness of the Nissan Cube. The wrap-around window connects the rear right-side window with the rear window, but is cut off by the trunk handle, making the window design just a little more fun than your standard symmetrical vehicle.
Big Interior
Despite its small size, the Nissan Cube offers efficient interior space. Five people fit comfortably in the car (or four if your back passengers want to use the center arm rest). Plus, the rear seat reclines, making travel comfortable and even sleep-inducing.
Retro-Fun Interior
The Nissan Cube brings back retro decorating accents…and puts them in your car. Check out the slip-proof shag carpet panel on the dashboard for an example of the surprises you can expect from your Nissan Cube. Plus, with more than 24 bright colors and unique mood lighting, you’ll think you just stepped into the colorful 1970′s all over again – or for the first time!
Fuel-Efficient Engine
The Nissan Cube won’t let you tow huge loads, but it does offer a 1.8 liter, 4-cylinder engine that will get you 30 mpg with about 122 horses. And hey – with more than 50 cubic feet of cargo room, who needs towing capacity anyway? Besides, the 6-speed manual transmission and the continuously variable transmission options both make pick up speed quick and easy.
Loaded with Features
We all know that Nissan tends to load its vehicles with fun standard features, and they sure didn’t skimp on the Nissan Cube. The Nissan Cube offers the Nissan Intelligent Key™ system that includes a push-button ignition. You’ll enjoy the Bluetooth® hands-free phone and the rear sonar system as well (plus- parking will be easier than ever – even in tough spots). If music is your thing, bask in the listening pleasure of the Rockford Fosgate subwoofer with MP3 integration.

The Cube: Nissan’s Newest Car
October 7th, 2008 by admin
While the Nissan Cube is set to premier at the Auto Show in November of this year, car enthusiasts are chomping at the bit to get a first look. What we know so far about the car is that it is (surprise!) shaped like a cube and comes in bright colors, such as orange, aqua, and off-colors of white. Sounds pretty snazzy so far, right?
Here’s what else we know about this mystery car everyone is so anxious for a chance to see:
Its trunk alone is less than 150 inches long, that’s less than the tiny Mazda MX-5, but still lager than the Mercedes-Benz S-class. 5 folks can comfortably fit inside the car. From side to side, the wheel base is less than 96 inches (or 5 feet), yet it’s tall enough to accommodate even your tallest friends.
People are predicting that it will contain the 1.8-liter engine of the Nissan Versa
and will get about 35 miles to the gallon. However, with its extremely light weight (about 2,500 pounds), you and a bunch of your friends may just choose to carry it from place to place. Driving, though, will take you from zero-to-60 in just 14 seconds or less with its 90-horse power engine.
According to those lucky folks that have had a chance to test drive the Cube, it’s easy to drive and park. It should be, after all – it’s so tiny and efficient. Plus, it has front-wheel drive with electric real-wheel drive assist and a four-speed automatic transmission on only a four-cylinder engine. You’ll love the ample tinted windows, which virtually eliminate blind spots and bring in tons of light. Hey – even the wheels are cool-looking on this little guy!
So how much will this Cube cost? Right under $14,000- all 109 pound per feet of torque included.
