3 Things to Think About When Buying a Used Truck in Calgary
May 22nd, 2009 by admin
Buying a used vehicle of any type can be a challenge. You not only have to buy a used truck that suits your budget, but you have to find one that also meets your needs. For that reason, we are always eager to help our customers buy the right used truck from beginning to end by providing as much information to them as possible.
Here are the top 3 things we think you need to think about when buying your next used truck:
Price
Price is one of the most important considerations when buying a used truck. The price of the truck is not only the sticker price, but it also involves the monthly loan payments that you will have to make, insurance costs, taxes, service, and more. Therefore, we encourage our buyers to look at the price of a used truck from a variety of different angles and through many lenses.
To help make the price more approachable for all of our customers, we offer financing. Many of our customers get loans through our financing department. Contact us today to learn more about our financing options and about what might be available to you.
Features
What good is a used truck that meets your budget if it does not meet your needs? It’s important to find a used truck that you can afford, but that will also work for you. Think carefully about the features that you need and that you want in your next used truck. A good way to think about these variables is to visit our dealership and actually look through some of the used trucks on our lot. This way, you’ll get a good idea of what’s available and possible.
Condition
All of our used trucks have been inspected and are in tip-top condition. We also offer a warranty on them to ensure that if anything goes wrong, we’ll take care of it (as long as it’s covered by the warranty). The condition of the used truck is important because it will help to determine how long the truck will run and how safe it will be to drive.
Buying a used truck is an exciting experience, but it is one that can also be tricky if you don’t know what to look for. Contact us today at www.gordscott.ca to learn more about what we recommend when it comes to making the right decisions or finding the right solutions for your specific needs.

Car Maintenance: A Few Things to Look For
April 16th, 2009 by admin
When you own a car, you own a significant machine that will allow you to have greater mobility and convenience. However, owning a car can also be dangerous and costly – especially if you do not regularly maintain it. Here are a few things that you should do regularly in order to ensure that your car is properly maintained so that it is safe, long-lasting, and reliable for you to drive:
Check Your Belts
Your belts help to ensure that your engine runs smoothly and that your car is reliable. If a belt happens to break while you are commuting, then you will be stranded – and not always in the safest of conditions. To check your belts on your own, simply push on the belt. If the belt gives way by more than half an inch, it’s time to bring it in for maintenance. Also, make sure that there are no cracks or signs of wear and tear on the belts – as these could indicate that the belt is about to give way.
Check the Hoses
The hoses are also important parts of the engine that help it to run smoothly. To check your hoses, pinch them between two fingers. If they crack or if you get goo on your fingers, then it’s time to bring your car in for an inspection. We may need to replace worn hoses.
Check Tires
Tires should have thick treads. If the treads wear down, then they are “balding” which means that they do not grip the road surface as they should. It may be time to change your tires so that you do not slip and slide – especially in wet driving conditions.
Check Fluids
You should regularly check all of your fluids – including your windshield wiper fluid. After all, you never know when you might need to wipe those nasty bugs off of your windshield so that you can see clearly!
Check Lights
It is important for you to have ample light – especially when driving at night. Therefore, once a month, you should check all of your lights to make sure that they are working properly. This includes high beams and low beams as well.
Contact us today www.gordscott.ca for more information about how you should maintain your car. Regular car maintenance can help to ensure that your car lasts longer and is safer for you and your family for years to come.
