After being completely redesigned in 2014, the 2017 Nissan Pathfinder gets some improvements that will allow it to remain competitive in the midsize sport utility vehicle segment. The changes to the 2017 Nissan Pathfinder include a new infotainment system, a more modern and robust design, a new, more powerful engine, and new safety features.
These additions improve the Nissan Pathfinder, but do not change its personality. The Nissan midsize SUV remains a model that emphasizes comfort, interior space and overall refinement. It also aims to be the perfect vehicle for families that are not ready to settle into a minivan just yet!
An even more powerful V6 engine for the 2017 Nissan Pathfinder
For 2017, the Nissan Pathfinder gets significant improvements to its engine which now develops 284 horsepower and 259 pound-feet of torque. That’s 24 more horsepower than last year’s Pathfinder for this V6 engine that has proved its reliability time and time again. The base S V6 FWD model starting at $ 32,498 comes with FWD while all other variants of the 2017 Nissan Pathfinder are all-wheel-drive. The power is sent to the front wheels via an XTronic CVT automatic transmission.
This gearbox allows the Nissan Pathfinder to claim an average fuel consumption rating of 8.9 liters per 100 kilometers on the highway, when equipped with all-wheel drive. It can also tow up to 6,000 pounds, and offers 453 liters of cargo space when all seats are in place. If you lower the last row of seats, the 2017 Pathfinder offers 1,201 liters of cargo space.
Lots of versions in the 2017 Nissan Pathfinder
The 2017 Nissan Pathfinder features a new model in its lineup this year, the Midnight Edition version that offers a number of comfort and safety features, including 20-inch wheels, black body accents, a high-end Bose audio system and a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, all for $ 48,478.
Otherwise, the 2017 Nissan Pathfinder also offers five other versions, including the entry-level S V6, which comes standard with three-zone air conditioning and 18-inch wheels, and also offers EZ Flex seats that offer different configurations for increased versatility. Other features found in the various versions of the 2017 Nissan Pathfinder include 20-inch wheels, a remote starter, ventilated and heated leather seats, a heated steering wheel, a motion-activated power tailgate and an emergency braking system.
